Tell Game Developers to take action.
Sign the petition!

www.Stop-Cheats.com

Stop-Cheats.com is requesting your  help in spreading the word about a very important issue regarding cheating in online gaming.  It is a fact that Game Developers could file law suits against those who publish multiplayer cheats, because the creation and publication of cheats is illegal.  If they did you would see a quick elimination of online cheating.  It's time we told Game Developers and Publishers exactly how we feel about their lack of initiative.

Lets get the 1 million signatures needed to make Game Developers motivated to do something.

Its also illegal to download pirated software, movies, etc. Problem is, law can't be enforced over the internet.

As much as I would love to see cheating stop, I really think judicial systems have better things to do than stop people from hacking in video games. Roll Eyes

This is a civil matter and will be resolved in civil court, not criminal court.

Thanks EvoSoft for the support.  Every signature and promotion of this effort is hugely important and we're very glad to see you stepping up to the plate and taking a stand.  It's exactly what we're hoping everyone will do, help us spread the word and get people moving.  If we gamers show action, it'll contrast itself if Game Developers don't move.  I have confidence with the right motivation and effort that we can nudge Game Developers in the right direction.  Take Action NOW and sign the petition!

Thanks again for everyone's help.

I'm a law student...I know what it is.  But civil court is still part of a judicial system, no? lol  And there are still way more civil cases that should be dealt with over something as unimportant as game hacking.  Look, I'm all for getting rid of cheaters...otherwise I wouldn't be on EvoSoft staff.  But the moment you try to take your virtual life outside into the real world, it's time to get a job, get a girlfriend/wife, get some sort of life that makes you realize how unimportant your virtual life is.  People are always gonna hack.  But, that's why there are things like EvoSoft, Punkbuster, and other ACPs out there to attempt to provide a fair game for people.

Eagle i agree with what you are saying to a degree but shouldnt the developers spend some of the money they make with the price of games being so high. They dont mind spending there money protecting against copyright sureley game hacking is as much of a problem if not more. Game hacking puts ppl off from buying there products if its known that its a hackfest.

Well , maybe some but most people just have to have the new game regardless!

Everyone moaned about not having dedicated servers in MW2 , and planned to boycott it , but a few weeks later they are all playing it.

So these software houses really do not have to care too much about that.

Game Developers would rather put their money into an anti crack then anti hacks, they loss a lot more money when people get the games from warez/torrent sites for free. In the short term, but in the long term if the game still does good they start to add anti cheat. (CSS Perfect example)
